Rabbits in the kitchen (not to eat, that is!)

I got this cute rabbit jewelry dish for my kitchen a while back. The ears are perfect for holding my rings while I'm doing the dishes, cooking, etc.

Yesterday I was at my mom's house and found a companion for the above rabbit -- a giant yellow rabbit dish!
I have no idea what its purpose is. Huge butter dish? Candy jar? My mom was using it to store chocolates. It was just so adorable, I stole it from my mom (thanks, mom!) to add to my kitchen rabbit collection (i.e., the one rabbit jewelry dish noted above)...and I'm using it for a totally random purpose:
To store my onion/shallots! Bizarre, I know! But they fit in there, and I read somewhere that you're supposed to store onions/shallots/garlic away from light, preferably with some ventilation. This giant rabbit dish doesn't really ventilate, so we'll see how long the onion/shallots last. But doesn't the rabbit look so cute next to my garlic jar?
